SUMMARY

You cannot apply Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Service Pack 2 (SP2), or Service Pack 3 (SP3) to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Evaluation Edition.

When you try to apply a service pack earlier than Service Pack 3a (SP3a) to SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Evaluation Edition, you receive the following error message:


MSSQLSERVER is an Evaluation version. Cannot upgrade an Evaluation version of SQL Server 2000. Setup will now exit.
