SYMPTOMS

If you insert an incorrect string value as a parameter for the NetDfsAdd function, you may insert an entry that is not valid in a DFS link. If a Windows NT 4.0-based or Windows 2000-based computer browses this share, the user receives a "Stop 0x50" error message.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the NetDfsAdd function does not verify that the parameters are valid.

RESOLUTION

Windows 2000
