Article ID: 314310

Article Last Modified on 11/24/2006

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 1

This article was previously published under Q314310

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Subscription Summary (iframe) Web part in SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 1 (SP1), you may not be able to view your subscription notifications in the Subscription Summary list when you subscribe to a folder or document that contains Double-Byte Character Set (DBCS) characters in its name. In the Japanese-language version of SharePoint Portal Server 2001 SP1, you may receive an ASP script error message, and you may not be able to view the Subscription Summary list. In non-Japanese language versions of SharePoint Portal Server 2001 SP1, the DBCS characters may not be displayed correctly in the list.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the Ifsubsum.asp file does not contain the correct codepage tag.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Note Because of file dependencies, this update requires Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 1.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server 2001 Service Pack 2.

MORE INFORMATION

The Subscription Summary (iframe) Web Part provides personalized subscriptions from a full-page-cached portal. You can also use the Web Part if full-page-caching is not enabled.
