SYMPTOMS

When you use Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) Digest authentication with Content Management Server (CMS), the authentication may fail even if you have met all of the requirements for using Digest authentication. After you enter the user name and password three times, you may receive the following error message:

You do not have rights to view the requested item

RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Content Management Server 2001. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Content Management Server 2001 Service Pack 1.
