SYMPTOMS
When you try to change your desktop background (wallpaper) from a .bmp image to another image type (such as a .jpg file), the .jpg image may not appear, and the .bmp image may be stretched to a full-screen size. This problem can also occur when you switch between a .jpg image and None (no background).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
