SYMPTOMS

When a Predictor object is created and the InitPredictor method is called, a Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects (ADO) connection to the Predictor database opens. However, this database connection is not closed until the database server is restarted.

CAUSE

The destructor of the Predictor object does not close the database connection.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Site Server 3.0, Commerce Edition.
