SYMPTOMS
In rare cases, a program or Windows may stop responding (hang) with an access violation. This access violation could occur in Winlogon.exe, which results in a Stop error code of c000021a.
NOTE: If this occurs in Lsass.exe, the symptoms that are listed in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article occur:

CAUSE
An access violation occurs while Wldap32.dll is looking up information from the cache.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
