WINS Owner Is Replicated When Owner's IP Address Is in PersonaNonGrata List

SYMPTOMS

The PersonaNonGrata registry key for Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) may not restrict certain Internet protocol (IP) addresses during replication.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if a domain entry is replicated and there is a domain controller record in the domain entry whose owner is in the PersonaNonGrata list.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem.
