SYMPTOMS

When you use Device Manager to remove and then reinstall an audio driver on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP, you may be prompted for the location of the audio driver files.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section. This problem was first corrected in Windows XP Service Pack 1.
