- Microsoft Message Queuing 2.0
This article was previously published under Q311474
SYMPTOMS
When a Microsoft Message Queuing application runs on a dependent client, the application may cause an Access Violation in the supporting Message Queuing server when the application calls MQCloseQueue. This causes an event 2077, and then Message Queuing closes unexpectedly (crashes).
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because both the queue handle and the CTransaction object are remote procedure call (RPC) context handles in the RPC interfaces between the runtime and Queue Manager. On dependent clients, the queue handle is a pointer to a structure in memory.
RESOLUTION
A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article.
