Attachments do not appear when you use an UNIX POP3 server in Outook 2002

SYMPTOMS

If you download a message from a UNiversal Interactive eXecutive (UNIX) Post Office Protocol version 3 (POP3) server in Outlook 2002, you may not see the attachment (specifically, a Microsoft Word .doc file or a .jpg file). The attachment is available for download if you open the message and save the attachment to your hard disk.

RESOLUTION


To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Office XP. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English-language version of this fix should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP Service Pack 2 (SP-2).
