SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to run Disk Defragmenter in Windows, your computer may stop responding (hang). This issue may not be resolved even after you run Scandisk from within Windows or from an MS-DOS prompt.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your computer has been infected with one or more viruses, such as the w32.funlove.4099 or the vbs.network.b virus.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft does not provide software that can detect or remove computer viruses. If you suspect or confirm that your computer is infected with a virus, obtain current antivirus software.
