XADM: The Display of Exchange Server Properties Is Slow in a Large Environment

SYMPTOMS

When you are using Exchange Service Manager (ESM) to administer Exchange 2000 servers in a large environment, and you try to view the properties of one of the servers, a significant length of time may pass before the server properties are displayed.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because the General page of the server properties dialog box requires a remote procedure call (RPC) to retrieve DSAccess information. In a large Exchange Server environment, the RPC may take a significant amount of time to complete.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.
