SYMPTOMS

In Exchange System Manager, while you are examining the properties of client permissions on public folders, you may receive the following error message

Exchange System Manager
Invalid Argument.
Facility: Win32 ID no: 80070057
Exchange System Manager

after you have established a scenario similar to the following.

In an environment containing both a Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 computer and an Exchange 2000 server, an Exchange Server 5.5 user creates a public folder. As an administrator, you then delete this user from Active Directory. Through the Exchange Server 5.5 Administrator program, you add the Exchange 2000 server to the list of servers to which Exchange Server 5.5 replicates public folders. You encounter the error when you open Exchange Service Manager and attempt to view the properties of the deleted user in the Client Permissions box on the Permissions tab of the Public Folder properties dialog box.
