SYMPTOMS

When you use the Web Scheduler to schedule a meeting, you may receive notification that the meeting was successfully booked, but the meeting may not appear on the list.asp web page.

If you use Microsoft Outlook to schedule the meeting with the same resource, you receive the following error message:

Please select an Exchange Conferencing Mailbox as a resource. The information store could not be opened.

CAUSE

This problem can occur if the resource mailbox that you selected for the meeting was not created to completion. The resource still appears in the Global Address List, which gives the impression that the resource can be booked for an online meeting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 2.
