SYMPTOMS

The Mode column receives data for events other than Lock and Scan events.

CAUSE

A SQL Profiler trace should return data in the Mode column only for Lock and Scan events. If SQL Profiler collects Lock events other than Lock Acquire, the Mode column populates for events other than Lock and Scan. Two events that show a Mode column in this case are Audit Login and SQL:BatchStarting.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

WORKAROUND

To work around the problem, ignore the extraneous values.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft SQL Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 2.
