SYMPTOMS
When you check the system summary information on your mobile computer by using the System Information tool (Winmsd.exe or Msinfo32.exe), the processor speed may be incorrect. For example, the processor speed may be shown as ~4MHz. Only mobile computers are affected by this problem.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because the Msinfo32.dll dynamic-link library (DLL) reports the current clock speed, which varies on mobile computers based on the CPU usage, instead of the maximum clock speed, which is constant.
RESOLUTION
