SYMPTOMS
When you try to install Works Suite, you may see either of the following symptoms:
- The computer stops responding (hangs).
- You are repeatedly prompted for a CD-ROM.
These symptoms occur when Works Suite Setup tries to install Microsoft Word.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow the steps in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to remove all versions of Works and Word from your computer, and then cleanboot and reinstall.
Note When you follow the steps in the following article, remove Microsoft Word in addition to Works when you remove and then run the Installer Cleanup Utility.
