SYMPTOMS
Your Windows 2000 Terminal Server may stop responding (hang) while you are closing a remote connection on a Microsoft Windows 98 or Microsoft Windows 95 share.
CAUSE
The problem can occur while the redirector is waiting on Multiplexing IDs (MIDS). This happens because the rdbss worker thread is waiting for the MIDS to be released, but the exchange that needs to be finalized is on the same worker thread work queue.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
