SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to start a program, you may receive one of the following error messages, where file name is the name of an .exe program file, and where Program is the name of the program that is being started:

Error message 1

Cannot find the file file name.
Check to ensure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available.

Error message 2

Cannot launch application.

Error message 3

Program is not a valid Win32 application.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if your computer is infected with the Sircam32 virus.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft does not provide software that can detect or remove computer viruses. If you suspect or confirm that your computer is infected with a virus, obtain current antivirus software. The Sircam32 virus is normally spread through e-mail attachments. The title of the e-mail message that contains this virus may vary, but the text of the message may be similar to any of the following examples:

  • Hi! How are you?


I send you this file in order to have your advice.

  • I hope you can help me with this file that I send.
  • I hope you like the file that I send you.
  • This is the file with the information that you ask for.
