Setup Fails During Post Installation Phase

SYMPTOMS

Setup fails during the Post Installation phase and the following information is logged in Errortext.log:

In addition, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service is not started. When you try to start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, the following error is logged in the System log:

Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7024
Description:
The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service terminated with service-specific error 0.


RESOLUTION

Use the procedure that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to completely remove SharePoint Portal Server:

295704 How to Manually Remove SharePoint Portal Server


NOTE: When you remove SharePoint Portal Server, make sure the Web Storage System folder is removed before you attempt to install the program again.
