SYMPTOMS

When plug in or unplug a USB device, you may receive a bugcheck in the Usbhub.sys file, and you may receive the following stop code if your computer is not configured to automatically reboot:

STOP 0x0000000A (00000024, 00000002, 00000001, 8041f65e)

NOTE: These parameters may vary based on the system configuration.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

The English version of this fix for the Windows 2000 versions should have the following file attributes or later:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
