SYMPTOMS
On a Compaq Armada 7800 portable computer, your modem may not work. If you view the modem properties, Device Manager displays an exclamation point in a yellow circle next to the listing for the modem. The details report shows "Code 10."
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Compaq Armada 7800 BIOS disables the modem during setup.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this behavior, enable the modem in the computer BIOS. To learn how to do this, refer to the documentation for the Compaq Armada 7800 or contact the manufacturer for assistance.
