How to Enable or Prevent the Receiving of Files
The computer that is sending the files initiates the file-sending process by using the Wireless Link feature. You can configure this feature to prevent other computers from sending files to your computer.
To enable or prevent the receiving of files:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Wireless Link.
- Under File Transfer:
- To enable your computer to receive files, click to select the Allow others to send files to your computer using infrared communications check box.
- To prevent your computer from receiving files, click to clear the Allow others to send files to your computer using infrared communications check box.
How to Change the Default Location for Receiving Files
The initial default location for receiving files is the desktop for the current user profile. To change the default location for receiving files:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Wireless Link.
- Under File Transfer in the Default location for received files section, click Browse.
- Type a new location for files that are received over wireless connections, and then click OK.
How to Hide or Display the Wireless Link Taskbar Icon
To hide or display the Wireless Link taskbar icon:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Wireless Link.
- On the Infrared tab:
- To hide the Wireless Link taskbar icon, click to clear the Display an icon on the taskbar indicating infrared activity check box.
- To display the Wireless Link taskbar icon, click to select the Display an icon on the taskbar indicating infrared activity check box.
How to Change Settings to Transfer Camera Images
To change settings to transfer camera images:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Wireless Link.
- On the Image Transfer tab, click to select the Use Wireless Link to transfer images from a digital camera to your computer check box.
- In the Transfer images to a subfolder of box, specify the default location for images that are transferred by wireless link.
- To configure your computer to automatically open Windows Explorer to the default location after you receive files, click to select the Explore location after receiving pictures check box.
