SYMPTOMS
If you format an ATA PC Card or PC Card device with the FAT, FAT32, or NTFS file system and you then you try to stop the device through the unplug or eject hardware icon on the task bar, you receive the following error message:
You may also receive this error message after you copy files to a USB flashcard even after you eject it though Windows Explorer and remove the flash media from the USB Reader.
You receive this error message although no program is accessing the device.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
