The Time Stamp Is Inaccurate When You Use the Relog.exe Tool with the Performance Data Helper

SYMPTOMS

If you use Performance Data Helper (PDH) to read a .csv or .tsv file and then create a new .csv or .tsv file, the resulting time stamp in the data is changed to the current local time when you use the Relog.exe tool.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Relog.exe tool uses the PDHUpdateLog attribute, which assumes that the data that it receives from its data source is always in coordinated universal time (UTC). The Relog.exe tool then converts the log times to local time.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3.
