SYMPTOMS
After you upgrade your Sony computer from Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional to Windows XP Professional, devices that you disabled through Device Manager in Windows 2000 may not be fully disabled when you bring your computer out of hibernation in Windows XP. As a result, you may encounter resource conflicts.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because some devices that were disabled through Device Manager are not released at the chip level when you bring your computer out of hibernation. Windows XP reads the devices as free.
RESOLUTION
To work around this behavior, restart the computer after you bring the computer back from hibernation.
