The System Properties List on a Sony VAIO Computer Shows Incorrect Information

SYMPTOMS

On a Sony VAIO computer, Windows XP may report the wrong computer properties in System properties. For example, Windows XP reports a Mobile Pentium III processor that runs at 700/550 megahertz (MHz) and that has 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM as an "Unknown Intel P6 processor, 6 MHz, 128 MB RAM."
