SYMPTOMS
When you create a command line action with executable Cscript.exe, the command line may fail to execute if the command line arguments contain insertion strings.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, upgrade to Application Center 2000 Service Pack 1 (SP1). For additional information, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem is fixed in the updated version of Health Monitor, which is installed by Application Center 2000 SP1.

Steps to Reproduce Behavior
- Create a Health Monitor command line action as follows:
File name: C:\Winnt\System32\Cscript.exe
Working directory: C:
Command Line: C:\temp.vbs <EmbeddedStatusEvent.SystemName> Copy the following text into C:\Temp.vbs:
Set file = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").CreateTextFile("C:\x.txt",True) if wscript.arguments.count > 0 then file.WriteLine wscript.arguments(0) else file.WriteLine "no argument" end if- Create a synchronized Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) event query data collector for the file replicated (Event 5077):
Namespace: ROOT\MicrosoftApplicationCenter
Class: MicrosoftAC_Replication_Session_DriverEvents_UpdateListApply_FileSet_Event - Add the action that you created in step 1 to the data collector that you created in step 3.
- Edit or create a file in a replicated directory on the cluster controller and synchronize the cluster. Check a member server and observe that C:\X.txt was not created.
