SYMPTOMS
If a Graphical Identification and Authentication (GINA) dynamic-link library (DLL) or a pass-through "stub" GINA returns WLX_SAS_ACTION_LOCK_WKSTA immediately after the WlxLoggedOutSAS function is called, Winlogon enters a "race" condition and stops responding (hangs).
RESOLUTION

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3).
