SYMPTOMS

When you try to export a Microsoft Access 2000 table to a Sybase database, you receive the following error message:

ODBC--call failed.
[Intersolve][ODBC SQL Server Driver](#102)

The same process worked fine in Microsoft Access 97.

CAUSE

You are running Microsoft Jet 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4) or earlier.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install the latest Jet 4.0 service pack.

Steps to Reproduce the Behavior

  1. On a computer that has Microsoft Jet Service Pack 4 or earlier installed, open the sample database Northwind.mdb.
  2. Click the Customers table.
  3. On the File menu, click Export.
  4. In the Files of type box in the Export To dialog box, click ODBC Databases.
  5. Type a name for the table, and then click OK.
  6. Select your Sybase DSN.
  7. Enter your logon information, and then click OK.
