SYMPTOMS
When you are attempting to synchronize directories (dirsync) between Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or between Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 and Novell GroupWise, directory entries from GroupWise to Exchange Server appear, but the entries from Exchange Server to GroupWise may not appear.
With advanced logging enabled, the following error may be logged in the logs that are located in the Exchsrvr\Conndata\Logs folder:
CAUSE
The Gwise recipient policy may not be enabled.
RESOLUTION
- Open Exchange System Manager, expand the Recipients container, and then expand Recipient Policies.
- In the right pane, right-click the Default Recipient Policy, and then click Properties.
- In the Recipient Policy dialog box, click the E-Mail Addresses (Policy) tab.
- Ensure that the Gwise policy is selected. If that policy is selected, there will be a check mark on the left side of the policy.
- Click Apply, and then click OK.
- Wait for the Recipient Update Services to generate and update the e-mail addresses for all of the users that the policy applies to, then wait for GroupWise directory synchronization to run at the next scheduled interval.
NOTE: To force GroupWise directory synchronization from Exchange 2000 to GroupWise, you can open the properties of the Connector for Novell GroupWise in Exchange System Manager, and click the Dirsync Options tab. In the Exchange to GroupWise directory synchronization box, click the Immediate full reload button.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
