SYMPTOMS
When you try to synchronize directories between Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Active Directory or Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 Active Directory and Lotus Domino, directory entries from the Lotus Domino name and address book are synchronized properly to Active Directory, but the entries from Active Directory are not propagated to the Lotus Domino Name and address book.
When you enable advanced logging, the following error message may be logged in the logs found in the Exchsrvr\Conndata\Logs folder:
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the Notes recipient policy is not enabled.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue:
- Start Exchange System Manager, click to expand the Recipients container, click to expand Recipient Policies, right-click the policy that is displayed in the right pane, and then click Properties.
- Click the E-Mail Addresses (Policy) tab, click to select the Notes policy (if that policy is selected, a check mark is displayed on the left side of the policy), click Apply, and then click OK.
- Wait for the Recipient Update Service to generate and update the e-mail addresses for all of the users that the policy applies to, and then wait for Notes directory synchronization to run at the next scheduled interval.
NOTE: To force Notes directory synchronization from Exchange 2000 to Notes, open the properties of the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus Notes in the Exchange System Manager, click the Dirsync Options tab, and then click Immediate full reload in the Exchange to Notes directory synchronization section.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
MORE INFORMATION
If the Notes recipients policy is not enabled, there are no accounts in Active Directory to synchronize to the Notes server.
