SYMPTOMS
After you disconnect the serial cable from a recently established partnership, you cannot reconnect the cable and make any other connections with the desktop computer for approximately 40 seconds.
CAUSE
When you establish a partnership with a Windows CE-based device by using Microsoft ActiveSync and then disconnect the connection, Repllog.exe keeps the COM port open for approximately 40 seconds. During this time, you cannot establish any other connections with the desktop computer, and you cannot shut off the device.
RESOLUTION
A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows CE 3.0 Core OS QFE 67. To resolve this problem immediately, click the following article number for information about obtaining Windows CE Platform Builder and core operating system software updates:
