Fatal Exception Error or Access Violation Error When You Use Photo Editing Program

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to use Microsoft Picture It! Publishing, Adobe PhotoDeluxe, or KODAK Picture Easy, you receive an error message similar to one of the following:

A Fatal Exception Error 06 has occurred at 0028:address

-or-

RTS ACCESS_VIOLATION in TNCLITE system manager task (htask 06c7f85b40)

CAUSE

This issue may occur when the Intel Video Phone program is installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, remove the Intel Video Phone program. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. In Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. In the Add/Remove Programs Properties dialog box, on the Install/Uninstall tab, click Video Phone with Intel Pro Share Technology, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. Follow the steps to completely remove the Intel Video Phone program.
  5. Restart your computer.
