SYMPTOMS
After you replace your computer's motherboard with a different model, you may experience any of the following symptoms if any of the Microsoft Windows operating systems listed at the beginning of this article are installed on your computer:
- Intermittent errors when you run programs.
- Poor or slow performance.
- Windows intermittently stops responding (hangs).
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because of hardware differences between the previous and current motherboards. Windows is closely configured to the specific hardware that is installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install Windows to a clean directory (folder).
