FIX: SQL Profiler Stops Responding When Saving Output to Hard Disk That Is Out of Space

SYMPTOMS

When saving replay output, SQL Server Profiler may stop responding.

CAUSE

The hard disk to which the output is being saved is out of space.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for SQL Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

NOTE: Although this problem is corrected in SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1, the replay output may still be truncated if there is insufficient free disk space.

WORKAROUND

Delete unneeded files to free some space on the disk or save the output to a disk with sufficient free space.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in SQL Server 2000. This problem was first corrected in SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 1.
