SYMPTOMS
When an Exchange 2000 user replies to a message from a Lotus cc:Mail user, the sender address in the cc:Mail user's Inbox may be the cc:Mail secondary proxy address. This causes a non-delivery report (NDR) if the cc:Mail user replies to the message.
CAUSE
This problem occurs because an earlier fix for the Microsoft Exchange Connector for Lotus cc:Mail (CCMC) allows migrated messages that have a "CCMail" address type with mixed uppercase and lowercase letters to pass through the Connector for cc:Mail, and changes the string check for address selection to case insensitive. Primary proxies are all uppercase letters and secondary proxies are all lowercase letters. Because of this, the secondary proxy is selected as the address if the secondary proxy is returned first from the directory.
RESOLUTION

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.
