SYMPTOMS
When a connection needs to be allocated during a transaction, the Dispenser Manager always searches the list of free connections. As a result, the Dispenser Manager may enlist a new connection in the transaction even if free connections are already enlisted in that transaction.
This has two side effects:
- It appears that connection pooling does not work with Microsoft Transaction Server or COM+ because new connections are opened and enlisted in the transaction.
- Databases such as Oracle and DB2 may encounter enlistment failures.
