FIX: BizTalk Mapper: Blank Segments Are Generated in X12 Output Format

Article ID: 297584

Article Last Modified on 10/17/2003

APPLIES TO

  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000 Standard Edition

This article was previously published under Q297584

SYMPTOMS

When you create maps that involve Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) as a target, an element may be generated with blank attributes.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the attributes of the element (fields of the segment, in EDI terminology) are conditionally generated. The map generates XSL Transformations (XSLT), which creates the element with no regard for whether or not conditions that are applied to the member attributes will be fulfilled.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
