CAUSE

This issue can occur if your computer has a Sound Blaster Live sound card, and the Sound Blaster Live software is installed on your computer.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact Creative Labs to inquire about the availability of a fix for this issue.

To work around this issue, uninstall the Sound Blaster Live software by using the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. Note that this should be possible because the symptom that is described in this article occurs infrequently.

MORE INFORMATION

Your Sound Blaster Live sound card should still work after you uninstall the Sound Blaster Live software because the Windows 2000 driver for the sound card is not removed when you uninstall the Sound Blaster Live software.
