SYMPTOMS

When catalogs increase in size, performance of the catalog system degrades. Performance degradation occurs on very large catalogs (for example, one million products in a Commerce catalog).

CAUSE

The Commerce Server 2000 code calls a SQL Stored Procedure named sp_GetProductsForCatalog. This function executes an unnecessary query, which results in the performance degradation.
