Microsoft Word can only import text from from a QuarkXPress 4.x file, not Quark documents or Quark graphics. Follow these steps to import text from QuarkXPress into Word 2001 or Word 98:
- Start QuarkXPress 4.x for Mac OS.
- Open the document that you want to export.
- Select the text. On the File menu, click Save Text.
- Click to select Microsoft Word 8.0 on the Format drop-down menu.
- Click the Selected Text button, and then click Save.
- Start Word 2001 or Word 98. On the File menu, click Open.
- In the Open dialog box, select the document that you exported from QuarkXPress.
To import a Word document, QuarkXPress lists these steps:
- Create a document in Microsoft Word 98 or Word 2001, and then save the file as an MS Word document.
- Start QuarkXPress 4.x with the MS Word 8.0 filter loaded.
- Import the Word document, making sure to select Include Style Sheets.
