SYMPTOMS

When ElfClearEventLogFileA is called with a NULL BackupFileName, a stack overflow error (C00000FD) results and causes the computer to stop responding (hang). The ElfClearEventLogFileA API is the client side entry API for the server side API ElfrClearELFA.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the VerifyAnsiString function is only used on BackupFileName in the case where BackupFileName is not NULL.
