NOTE: Install SharePoint Portal Server on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server Service Pack 1 (SP1) or later.

If you are installing SharePoint Portal Server on a computer that is running Windows 2000 Server SP1:

  1. Install Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
  2. Install Windows 2000 Server SP1.
  3. Install the Windows 2000 fixes that are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base articles:
