SYMPTOMS

The Share address space with other X.400 systems option that is available in Exchange Server 5.5 on the General tab of the Site Addressing object under Configuration is not available in Exchange 2000 Server.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Service Pack 1.

MORE INFORMATION

To activate the Share address space with other X.400 systems option:

  1. Apply the Exchange 2000 Server SP1.
  2. Run ADSI Edit, which is included with the Microsoft Windows 2000 Support Tools.
  3. Click the Configuration container, click to expand the Configuration object, and then expand Services. Expand Microsoft Exchange, expand the Your_Exchange_Organization object, and then click Recipient Policies.
  4. Right-click the appropriate recipients policy (the policy that defines the X.400 policy or address space that you want to share with the other X.400 system).
  5. In the Policy Properties dialog box, click the Attributes tab, and then click heuristics under Select a property to view. In the Edit Attribute box, type 1, and then click Set. Click Apply, and then click OK.
  6. Restart all of the Exchange 2000 services.
