Incorrect Path to cc:Mail Post Office
If the path that was entered in the Connector for cc:Mail properties is not accessible, the connector is not set up properly. To verify that the path is correct, click Start, click Run, and then copy the path from the connector's properties. Verify that the service account in Exchange Server 5.5 has appropriate permissions to read and write to this folder, and that the account provided in Exchange 2000 has read and write permissions.
NOTE: The path that is listed in the Connector for cc:Mail properties must be an explicit share and not a hidden share (for example, \\user\c$\ccdata). In Exchange 2000, you can explicitly set the user account and domain for the account that accesses the cc:Mail post office on behalf of the Exchange Server connector.

Incorrect Versions of the Import and Export Programs
Different versions of cc:Mail use different versions of the Lotus Import and Export programs. Depending on the version, you may need to use either Import32.exe or Import.exe. By default, all versions of Exchange Server use Import.exe. However, you can change the version by using either of the following methods:
- Rename the files from "Import32.exe" and "Export32.exe" to "Import.exe" and "Export.exe".

- Modify the registry:
- Locate and click the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\Current Control Set\Service\MSExchangeCCMC\Parameters\Import
- Change the value from import.exe to import32.exe.
- Locate and click the following registry key:
If this value is set incorrectly, the following event ID message is logged in the Application event log:

Event Source: MSExchangeCCMCGeneral

Event ID: 43
Description: The Lotus cc:Mail Import.exe/Export.exe programs could not be executed.Check to see that they exist on this server and that they are in the System path. The system error code is 2 The system cannot find the file specified.
Directory Synchronization
In some cases, it is not recommended that you synchronize directory entries from cc:Mail to Exchange Server or from Exchange Server to cc:Mail. To prevent directory entries from synchronizing while you still maintain unidirectional directory synchronization, you must provide both an import and export container in the connector's properties.
NOTE: This issue occurs in Exchange 2000 only.
Automatic Directory Exchange (ADE) Is Not Enabled
If the cc:Mail post office that Exchange Server is connecting to does not have ADE, the Connector for cc:Mail generates an event ID 70 message. To resolve this issue, either run the cc:Mail Administrator program with a /dirprop/y switch (for example x:\ccmail\admin admin.exe /dirprop/y), or disable the Permit ADE to propagate entries synched to cc:Mail to downstream post offices option on the Connector for cc:Mail.
Incorrect Password for cc:Mail Post Office
If the password for the cc:Mail post office that Exchange Server is connecting to is incorrectly entered in the Connector for cc:Mail properties, the connector generates an event ID 70 message.
