SUMMARY
One very powerful option of the PowerPoint Presentation Broadcast feature is that you can record your broadcast for playback at a later date and time.
- This feature allows you to overcome the 15 person limit on a live broadcast, by allowing viewers to play back the broadcast when they want.
However, depending on your file server, this might slow it down, as these playback streams are separate and not served out by a Microsoft NetShow server.
- This feature allows you to change the broadcast, or correct any mistakes that might have happened during the initial broadcast.
However, you cannot re-record just one slide, you must start the session all over again to re-record it.

To record a presentation, follow these steps:
- On the Slide Show menu, point to Online Broadcast, and then click Record and Save a Broadcast.
- In the Record a Presentation Broadcast dialog box, click Settings.
- On the Presenter tab, under File location, type the file location in the Save broadcast files in box.
NOTE: If you try to specify a Web address, you receive the following warning whereWeb addressis a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). Only network or local computer locations are valid locations for storing broadcast recordings. - If necessary, change audio or video settings:
- If you want both audio and video capability, click Video and audio.
- If you want audio capability only, click Audio only.
- If you do not want audio or video functionality, click None.
- Click OK to save broadcast settings.
NOTE: These settings apply to all broadcasts from a particular computer, not just to the presentation that you are preparing to broadcast. Microsoft recommends that you check these settings each time before broadcasting, to ensure that they reflect your preferences for that broadcast session. - In the Record Presentation Broadcast dialog box, click Record.
If you are using a microphone or video camera, tests are performed automatically. - When you are ready to record, click Start.
When the Microsoft Internet Explorer window appears with the title slide for your presentation, you can run the presentation as you would any other presentation. When you click to exit the presentation, a message appears to confirm that you have recorded and saved the broadcast, as well as the file location for the broadcast.
Notes
- You cannot see yourself in the video display as you deliver a presentation, so be careful not to move from the position you were in during the video test, or you may move out of camera range.
- When you want others to view a recorded broadcast presentation, make sure that it is in a shared location. Send the link to the starting page and direct the audience to click Replay Broadcast on the lobby page to start the presentation.
- Terminal Server connections are not supported when you are running PowerPoint Online Broadcasting.
