SYMPTOMS
When you add a template to the Templates and Add-ins list in Microsoft Word, the check box for the template may not remain selected. Therefore, the template is not automatically loaded when you restart Word.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because the template must reside in the Word Startup folder to be automatically loaded when you start Word.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, move or copy the template to the Word Startup folder. To do this, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for the version of Word that you are running.
Microsoft Office Word 2007
The default location for the Word 2007 Startup folder is as follows:
- In Microsoft Windows XP and in Microsoft Windows Server 2003:
