SYMPTOMS
You cannot access the Business Desk Analysis Services, including static reports, when you use Commerce Server reports across domains. If there is no VPN or LAN connectivity, this access is performed over HTTP. Static reports cannot be completed over HTTP.
CAUSE
The connection string (including credential information) is not passed correctly across domains. The Enterprise version of Analysis allows for OLAP over HTTP by using the Msolap.asp file .
WORKAROUND
For successful authentication, use a single domain.
RESOLUTION
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Commerce 2000 Service pack that contains this hotfix.

STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Commerce 2000.
